Fusion have demonstrated a driverless ‘pod’ vehicle in Millennium Square, Bristol. The vehicle, commissioned for the Greenwich Gateway project, is built by Westfield in Dudley, West Midlands, and uses Fusion’s ‘CAVstar’ sensing and control system to safely find its way to a chosen destination. The Venturer autonomous vehicle has successfully completed its first set of trials focusing on the ‘handover’ where the control of the car is switched from human driver to the autonomous system.
